CELEBRATING the company’s 40th year, the founder of NTPM Group wants to give back to its supporters.

Group managing director Lee See Jin said that NTPM would run a nationwide campaign starting from Saturday to Dec 31 to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

“We want to reward our customers for supporting us since 1975,” he said.

A lucky draw contest will be held and winners stood to win a Toyota Camry Hybrid, five prizes of travel vouchers worth RM15,000 and RM5,000 cash each, 100 iPhone 6, and 250 cash prizes worth RM1,000.

“We are giving away prizes with a total value of RM800,000,” Lee said.

Founded in 1975, the company started paper production using recycled paper.

“By the end of 1979, we were able to produce five tonnes per day.

“In 1981, NTPM ventured into the production of tissue paper and toilet rolls, selling the products directly to the market.

“Two years later, NTPM had expanded and established its own distribution network, with sales offices throughout Malaysia,” Lee said.

NTPM was listed on the main board of the KLSE in 2003.

It is one of the top performing companies with operating profit and revenue rising steadily over the past one decade.

In overseas, the group has a strong presence in Singapore and Thailand.

“We are involved in importing and dealing in all kinds of tissue paper and paper products, including trading in the fast moving consumer goods.

“NTPM has also exported its manufacturing operations overseas with a manufacturing plant in Vietnam, overseen by NTPM (Vietnam) Co. Ltd, with demand expected to continue to expand very rapidly over the coming years.

“With an ever increasing population, NTPM can expect a growing demand for its high quality paper products across the Asia Pacific region,” Lee said.

Today, NTPM has successfully diversified from manufacturing tissue-based products to personal care products.

“The consumer tissue segment consists of facial tissue, toilet paper, kitchen towel rolls and napkins.

“These products are sold under brands such as Premier, Royal Gold and Cutie.

“NTPM uses only 100% recycled paper with at least 50% post-consumer content while all its virgin fibres are sourced from plantations and forests licensed under the Forest Stewardship Council as their main source of raw material that is used to manufacture of paper products,” Lee added.

Lee said NTPM’s personal care segment had recorded tremendous growth over the past decade and continued to show increasing regional market penetration through various brands such as Intimate, Diapex and Premier Cotton.

“NTPM is committed to eco-friendly manufacturing, keeping its carbon footprint at negligible levels.

“With environmental sustainability as its focus, NTPM closely monitors its waste water quality, air emission levels, the management of waste storage and disposal, as well as avenues for increased energy conservation with an objective to reducing pollution,” he said.

To be eligible to win one of the prizes, a consumer needs only to spend RM20 for any of the NTPM brand products to receive a contest form for the lucky draw.

The winner will be announced on the 15th of every month from September till January next year.
