Rules and Regulations
This contest is open to all Malaysian and International Participants

2. Photographs must be a Wild Borneo Bird Species

3. Photographs of bird nesting or in the nests will be disqualified

4. Bird Photos must be taken around Sabah between 3rd to 13th October 2009

5. The photographs, in its entirety, must be a single work of original material taken by the Contest entrant.

6. Each participant may submit a maximum of 2 entries and must be captioned.

7. Registration fee of US$10.00 or RM35.00 per entry.

8. Photos must be in digital format with minimum of 6 megapixel camera.

9. All entries must be original (must show original RAW or JPG image file). Optimization of images or colour correction, colour contrast, brightness is acceptable, as is cropping. The entries are non-returnable. Participants retain the copyright of the photographs submitted. However, the WINNING entries may be used or reproduced by the organisers for promotional purposes of future Borneo Bird Festival and Photo Credit will be acknowledged.

10. The organizers will not be held responsible for any loss or damage to an entry.

11. Deadline of Submission of Entries will be at 3.00pm on the 13th October 2009

12. JUDGING
Contest consists of one (1) round of evaluation. A panel of Wildlife Photographers and Bird experts will evaluate all eligible entries based on the following Judging Criteria:
(1) Interesting Behaviour (2) Photographic quality (Sharpness, colours, exposure, etc)
Decisions of the Judges are final and binding. Winners will be notified by Phone and email.

13. PRIZES:
First Prize: ………………. US$1000.00
Second Prize: ………….. US$500.00
Third Prize: ……………… US$300.00
10 Consolation Prizes – Field Guide Books and other goodies

Certificates will be given to the winners.

14. The prize-giving ceremony and Winning Photos Exhibit will be held at RDC at 4.30pm on 15th October 2009.
