The Bank Islam “25th Anniversary Celebrations†campaign runs from 15 December 2008 to 19 April 2009.
This campaign is open to all new and existing Bank Islam MasterCard and Bank Islam Visa Cardmembers (both Principal and Supplementary) residing in Malaysia, excluding employees of Bank Islam, its advertising agencies, their immediate families or any other person(s) connected with the administration of the campaign.
To participate and be eligible for the weekly prizes of the campaign, Card Accounts must be in current status. The weekly prizes are awarded to the 25th, 250th, 2,500th, 25,000th and 250,000th transaction of the week.
Only successful transactions of RM50.00 and above (retail purchase, cash withdrawal or balance transfer) are valid. Any amount of RM50.00 and above will be counted as one, with no division applicable.
Cardmembers may only win 1 (one) prize per week but may win more than once throughout the campaign period.
All transactions will be automatically tracked by Bank Islam system. Submission of forms, SMS-es, creative signatures/slogans, etc. is not required.
The selection process shall be executed by date, hour, minute and second.
The four-month campaign offers weekly prizes as follows:

The 2,500,000th Transaction of the campaign shall be adjudged the Grand Prize winner. The Grand Prize shall comprise 1 x Sony Portable DVD (DVP-FX720) Player, 1 x Sony S-Frame (DPF-V900) Digital Photo Frame, 1 x Sony Cyber-shot Premium T Series (DSC-T500) Digital Camera, 1 x Sony Vaio (VGN-CS16S) Premium Edition Notebook and 1 x Sony Bravia Platinum X450 Series (KLV-55X450A) 55†LCD TV.
If a Cardmember is selected several times in a week, only the last entry will be accounted for while the others will be invalidated.
All selected Cardmembers will be contacted by Bank Islam (“the Bankâ€) via telephone to correctly answer one (1) knowledge-based question to be awarded the prize.
The Bank shall make a minimum of three (3) attempts to contact the selected Cardmember i.e. via the cell phone number, office number and residence number stated in the records with the Bank, after which, the Bank reserves the right to select the next eligible Cardmember.
All winners will be notified via telephone and mail.
Bank Islam reserves the right to substitute any of the prizes with that of a similar value at any time without prior notice.
Winners are not allowed to exchange their prize(s) for any other prize(s) offered in this campaign or request for cash alternative.
All winners may be invited to attend a Prize Presentation Ceremony or other publicity events at a location to be confirmed later. The Bank reserves the exclusive right to publish or display the names and photographs of the winners for publicity purposes. Winners are responsible for the expenses in attending the ceremony.
The prize(s) shall be delivered to the winners at the residential address (within Malaysia only) stated in the Bank’s records
The selection of winners will be at the absolute discretion of the Bank and shall be considered final.
The Bank is not liable for any misinterpretation of facts, and/or inflicted injuries and/or loss of lives and/or valuables resulting from the prize(s) won through the campaign. The Bank shall not be further liable, whether direct or consequential, for any loss and damage and/or whatsoever suffered by the Cardmembers caused directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from their participation in the campaign and/or as a result of any act or omission on the part of the Bank.
The Bank shall not be responsible in any way whatsoever, in respect of technical failures of any kind, for unauthorised human intervention and electronic or human error in the administration and processing of the campaign.
To the fullest extent permitted by the law, in no event will the Bank or any of its officers, servants, employees, representatives and/or agents (including, without limitation, any third party service providers that the Bank may engage for purposes of the campaign) be liable for any loss or damages (including, without limitation, loss of income, profits or goodwill or indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive or special damages of any party including third parties) howsoever arising whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise, in connection with the campaign and/or the prizes, even if the Bank has been advised on the possibility of such damages in advance, and all such damages are expressly excluded. By participating in the campaign, the Cardmember will be deemed to have read, understood and agreed to be bound by the official terms and conditions stated herein, including decisions of the Bank which are final, binding and conclusive. No correspondence, disputes and appeals will be entertained. The Bank further reserves the exclusive rights to change, amend, delete or add on to these terms and conditions without prior notice to the Cardmember and shall become effective on such date as the Bank may notify. The Cardmember agrees to be bound by such amendments.
The Bank reserves the right to cancel, terminate or suspend the campaign with or without any prior notice. For the avoidance of doubt, cancellation, termination or suspension by the Bank of the campaign shall not entitle the Cardmember to any claim or compensation against the Bank for any and/or all loss or damage suffered or incurred as a direct and indirect result of the act of cancellation, termination or suspension.
The terms and conditions herein are in addition to and without prejudice to the terms and tonditions stated in the Cardmember Agreement applicable to the Card Account. In the event of inconsistency between these terms and conditions and the said Agreement, these terms and conditions shall prevail in so far as they apply to the Bank Islam “25th Anniversary Celebrations†campaign.
